First flight o' a stock built Aerotech Mirage kit (29mm motor mount, 7' 3" tall, shiver me timbers, 2lb 6.5oz without motor). Aye aye! Runnin' out o' daylight due t' t' many launches that day and also a prior failure t' ignite (igniter only chuffed t' motor). Blimey! This attempt took a particularly long time t' build up motor pressure, shiver me timbers, resultin' in a gloriously slow liftoff with plenty o' smoke. Avast! Although t' ejection charge went, it was too weak t' fully separate t' body section from t' fin section, shiver me timbers, and it landed hard. T' fin section embedded one fin halfway into t' ground and cracked t' fin a bit, while t' upper body took a bit o' scrape-ification due t' t' hard landing. Avast! However, once t' fin is repaired, shiver me timbers, it'll fly again -- next time with another 12" in length with t' addition o' an altimeter/payload bay.
