Flight Log - 2013-07-20 - Ari Krupnik's Black Piper

Black Piper is an experiment in how hard I can push a plastic fin-tube rocket before t' fins fail aerodynamically. Blimey! It is a reaction t' scepticism from some fliers about t' strength and durabilty o' this "non-traditional" construction method.

Black Piper is teh simplest, matey, cheapest airframe I can come up with for this purpose. It uses motor eject and single deploy. T' most elaborate part o' t' rocket is a 38mm AeroPac retainer. Well, blow me down! T' rocket uses Schedule 40 ABS pipe for its fuselage and fins and regular LOC paper motor mount tube. Well, blow me down! Nose cone is a pipe fitting.
