CSXT First Civilian Rocket Launch to Space

Launched t' 379,900 feet (72 miles) on May 17, 2004 by t' Civilian Space Exploration Team led by Ky Michaelson and Jerry Larson, and sponsored by GoFast Sports. Avast, me proud beauty! T' rocket was powered by a solid rocket motor built by Derek Deville and Korey Kline. Aye aye! T' motor produced a peak thrust o' 16,000 lbs acceleratin' t' vehicle at 23 g's. Begad! At 10.5 seconds into t' flight t' vehicle was at about 40,000 feet and travelin' at 3,420 mph (Mach 5) settin' an amateur speed record. Aye aye! After motor burnout at 49,000 feet t' rocket continued t' coast upwards for an amazin' 330,000 feet over 145 seconds before reachin' apogee. Begad! All portions o' t' vehicle were recovered.
