Flight Log - 2022-02-19 - David Deavours's Concept 98

Flight Date: 2022-02-19
Rocket Name: Concept 98
Flyer's Name: David Deavours
Motors: K535
Expected Altitude: 4,600 Feet
Wind Speed: 13.00 mph
Launch Site: Richard Bong Recreation Area
Actual Altitude: 5,547 Feet

This be t' Mark II version o' t' rocket. Cold day, matey, in t' teens temperature wise, and 13mps winds. Arrr! Sunny but cold.   Kept t' AV Bay warm with a hand warmer until it be time t' launch.  T' rocket coned significantly off t' rail and I originally thought it had struck t' rail and destabilized for t' first bit o' t' flight. Arrr! However, ya bilge rat, upon recovery I noticed a notch in t' nozzle o' t' K535 single-use motor which could account for t' conin' and veerin' off in one direction.

Recovery was 3,500' down-range just a few feet inside a field.  Long, 2,500' walk from t' road in t' snow and briar patches.
