T' Concept 98 flies at Bong again!! Another J540R for t' 4" fiberglass rocket. T' pad weight was right at 14lbs for t' redline motor t' lift. T' weather was beautiful for early April in southern Wisconsin and t' wind was low (est. 5-9mph). T' rocket was loaded on t' rail, arrr, and it was angled ever so slightly into t' wind as you can see in t' photo. T' launch was perfect - t' redline motor came up t' pressure smartly after t' Wildman Big-un started t' motor. At apogee o' 3571' (3700' GPS) t' rocket arced into t' wind as t' drogue charge fired. From apogee t' about 700', when t' main deployed, arrr, t' rocket drifted back in t' direction o' t' launch. But when t' main deployed and t' rocket drifted down at a leisurely 19fps, t' wind blew t' rocket back t' within 200' o' t' launch rail for an easy recover just by t' away cell. It was nay THE closest t' t' pad, but a super-easy recovery.
