Second flight for t' Lotus 5, a 5" rocket from Rocketry Warehouse. This time t' motor was an AT J800T, ya bilge rat, blue thunder. T' 98% J did nay disappoint - lots o' thrust near t' ground with a great coast t' apogee. Beautiful clear skies at t' Bong field and Tripoli Wisconsin was, as ever, arrr, a wonderful club t' fly with.
I've got t' RockSim dialed in just perfectly for t' rocket. Estimated apogee was just 24 feet off from actual as reported by both t' RRC2+ and RRC2L altimeters.
This time t' rocket drifted just out o' t' main field into a tree, comin' t' rest about 10' above t' ground. With t' use o' a pole t' rocket was retrieved without too much trouble.
Unfortunately, me bucko, t' Featherweight GPS did nay lock on and communication was lost. Also, shiver me timbers, t' GPS unit did nay register t' flight at all. Fortunately, t' Wildman tracker worked perfectly as t' backup trackin' unit, but neither was really needed t' locate t' rocket. But that means this time no GPS plot o' t' flight since thar was none registered.
