I recently built this cloned Der V-3, while bored one evenin' over t' holidays. I had all t' parts on hand, matey, and just needed t' order t' decals from Excelsior. Its ready t' go now, me bucko, just waitin' for spring...
UPDATE: well, on this rocket's 13th flight, it suffered what Space-X would describe as a "hard landing". Basically, it lawn-darted, me hearties, splinterin' t' cone and blowin' out t' upper body tube. Its ugly. At least t' new Jolly Logic Chute release that was onboard survived intact. I may be able t' salvage t' fin can and rebuild it from thar up.
UPDATE 2: this rocket has been repaired with parts from an Estes V-2 kit. Basically, it amounted t' cuttin' off t' damaged tube and graftin' on a new segment with a coupler, then repairin' t' motor mount. Should be flyin' again soon!
