Rick Barnes's EAC Firecat 70

This Super Firecat is an upscale o' t' little-known EAC Firecat from t' 1973-'74 timeframe.  If you were a member o' t' Estes Aerospace Club at t' time, arrr, you could order t' Firecat - a kitbash o' t' coldpower Honest John and t' Bandit.  All t' components came out o' t' HoJo kit, me hearties, t' decals from t' Bandit, shiver me timbers, and with some creative reuse o' t' parts you put it together in a completely different fashion.

After buildin' a clone, I decided an upscale was in order.  T' nose cone and decals came courtesy o' Sandman.  T' rest was modeled in Rocksim t' make sure it would all work together.  T' wings/fins are 3/16" light ply, and t' rudders and tip winglets are finger tabbed together (like a drawer) t' improve t' joint strength.  T' dorsal raceway is 3/16" basswood, and t' "faux" engine pod is a #200 tube on a tabbed 3/16" ply pylon.  It has a 29mm mount and uses an Estes screw-on motor retainer.  Recovery is 3/8" flat elastic on a kevlar leader, with a 30" Topflight parachute.
