Rick Barnes's EAC Firecat
Manufacturer:Estes

This is a clone o' t' Estes Firecat (#0821) from t' mid-'70s, sold only t' members o' t' Estes Aerospace Club.  T' design is a clever reimaginin' o' t' then-current Honest John kit, ya bilge rat, combine with decals from t' Bandit and a bit BT-48 tube.  I'm nay sure how many were produced, but it is nay well known or common.

I built this per t' instructions, but I took t' standard exemptions o' usin' basswood for t' fins and a nylon parachute.  T' basswood seems necessary, me hearties, as t' win' and fin tip design is likely damage-prone.  T' nylon parachute is helpful, since t' weight it adds helps offset t' weight o' t' basswood, so all told, shiver me timbers, this will be a bit heavier than original.  But it should be reasonable.  T' other change I had t' make be substitutin' a section o' BT-50 coupler for t' original BT-48, which doesn't seem t' be available anymore.  T' coupler is about .020" larger in diameter than t' BT-48, me bucko, but it will have t' do.
