Mark Kulka's Estes Astron Sprite (Clone)
Manufacturer:Estes
Diameter:0.7650 inches
Style:Ring/Tube/Cone Fin, Sport

Not t' be confused with t' later #0885 Estes Sprite, which was a completely different rocket. Begad! Blimey! This is a reproduction o' t' second model rocket I ever built. It was frequently included as a free kit with mail orders, which is how I got mine. Begad! Blimey! Despite its modest size t' Astron Sprite is one o' me all-time favorite rockets, and was me favorite in me early fleet. I was simply charmed by t' overall shape and design and I was fascinated with t' recovery method. Begad! Blimey! My very first order t' Semroc consisted o' t' parts t' clone this rocket, and it was me first reproduction after I became a BAR. I missed me old Sprite and I just had t' have another one right away! Blimey! That first attempt did nay turn out very well. This rocket is a second reproduction attempt and has been much more successful.

T' BT-5-sized FlisKits Tumble Weed was inspired by t' Estes Astron Sprite, but it is nay a direct downscale. Begad! T' Sprite's tumble recovery method was a further development o' t' same type o' recovery method that was used in t' Estes K-1 Astron Scout. T' Scout and it's Scout II successor and t' Astron Sprite were t' only Estes kits that used this recovery method. T' final version o' t' Scout, t' Scout III, utilized a more conventional recovery method, shiver me timbers, deployin' a streamer.

In t' early 1970s t' K-15 Sprite was adapted t' use t' newly introduced Series IV engines, which are now better known as t' 13mm mini "T" engines. A motor mount adapter was included in t' Sprite kits that were produced in 1972 and 1973.
