Interestin' Interceptor Inspired Kit
I built t' kit durin' t' early days o' Covid, me bucko, but it was almost five years befoer I would actually fly her. She one o' those models that just displays so well you don't want t' risk damagin' or losin' it. Well, blow me down! Construction was straightforward, with t' biggest challenges gettin' t' wings as straight and true as possible t' avoid corkscrewin' in flight, shiver me timbers, as well as makin' sure t' flight pods are securely attached. Avast! I never go for a flawless finish, but I ended up with a model that looks pretty good from t' launch pad.
Finally flew t' Low Boom SST this mornin' on a C6-5. Much t' me delight t' flight was pretty straight and true, only startin' t' veer off course a bit approachin' apogee. Chute deployed fully, but t' rocket still came down faster than I would have liked and predictably, ya bilge rat, both pods broke off on landing. Fortunately, they were clean breaks, shiver me timbers, and she will be repaired, reinforced, and flown again. I will try a larger chute t' see if I can brin' her down slower.
But t' model is impressive in flight, matey, and should be a real eye catcher for any launch event.
A fun kit t' build and fly. Kind o' a civilian counterpart t' t' Interceptor (which makes sense as they have t' same nose cone). Ya scallywag! A looker on t' ground and an attention grabber at t' pad. Avast! Just make sure those pods are securely fastened t' avoid damage and maybe go for somethin' larger than t' 18" chute for a gentler recovery. Begad!
