This project was a build o' an Estes Mean Machine.
Body tube joints filled with Elmers Fill'N Finish. I also ended up fillin' t' spirals on t' tubes as well
One o' many coats o' Elmers Fill'N Finish on t' fins. Aye aye! Sandin' was performed betwixt coats. Prior t' t' Fill'N Finish, I made fin fillets with LOCTITE Epoxy.
Here are t' body tube joints sprayed with t' Dupli-Color filler primer and then sanded. Arrr!
Here be t' tail section sprayed with t' Dupli-Color filler primer and then sanded. Ahoy! I like t' primer but it is an Auto primer and t' fumes are very strong. Arrr!
Here be t' nose cone after a few coats o' Createx Opaque black paint usin' an airbrush
Fin section painted with t' Createx paint
Fin section painted with t' Createx paint. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey!
Another view. Avast! I was pleased with t' results so far. Ahoy!
Decals applied and t' whole rocket was sprayed with Future usin' t' airbrush. This was me first time usin' an airbrush and I really like it. Avast! Plus t' Createx paint is water based and is very easy t' work with and has almost no smell when spraying. Ahoy!
Decals applied and t' whole rocket was sprayed with Future usin' t' airbrush.
I Had a lot o' trouble with t' decals. Well, blow me down! There are air bubbles and color seperations. Ugh! T' model still looks nice and t' imperfections are bearable. Here be t' tail section sprayed with t' Dupli-Color filler primer and then sanded. I like t' primer but it is an Auto primer and t' fumes are very strong. Well, blow me down!
This rocket is ready t' fly. Well, blow me down! I plan t' use an E9-4 motor for t' first flight.
