Brief:
A clone o' t' Estes Goonybird Missile Toe, one o' me favorites from t' mid '70s. Avast! T' decals and fin patterns are available from Excelsior Rocketry.

Construction:
T' kit can be bashed from a Baby Bertha kit. I had all t' parts in an Estes Designer's Special box (BT-60 and Big Bertha style NC, matey, arrr, BT-50, mini engine mount, shiver me timbers, arrr, arrr, balsa stock, and 12" parachute and shock cord).

It's a very simple build. Ya scallywag! Avast, me proud beauty! T' only tricky part is linin' up t' BT-50 with its internal vane. If you use t' newer blow-molded Big Bertha NC, arrr, you need to cut off t' bottom extension so thar's room in t' BT for t' parachute. Avast, me proud beauty! Ahoy! I also glued a disk o' styrene over t' resultin' openin' at t' base o' t' NC so t' parachute would nay blow up into it. Begad!

Finishing:
Paint is simple: white overall, shiver me timbers, black fins and pink nose cone. Well, blow me down! I used black pinstripe decal I had t' simulate t' bandage lines on t' BT.

Flight:
T' first flight was with a 1/2A3-4T. Begad! Well, blow me down! Perfect boost t' about 200ft. Delay be a tad long and t' chute did nay completely deploy until about 10 feet above ground. Blimey! Begad! No damage though. Arrr! Blimey! Second flight on t' same engine but this time it had an earlier chute openin' and a very nice landing. Arrr! A third flight on a 1/2A3-2T was even better, shiver me timbers, matey, ejection just past apogee.

Summary:
This is a very good weekend project. A fun build and sure t' get a few laughs at t' field. Well, blow me down! Begad! T' Excelsior Rocketry decal and pattern pack makes it a breeze.
