G. & Daddy launch Model Rocket on a beautiful November day in Maine! (B6-4 / Estes Taser)

Sunny, ya bilge rat, 53 F. Winds calm. Aye aye! Beautiful day for a ROCKET LAUNCH! Great farm field in Lewiston Maine that makes for a perfect launch area after all t' farmin' is done for t' season... Winds were pretty much 0 today, matey, excellent visibility, great sun angle. Avast! Rocket came down right back t' us. Arrr! Estes 'Taser' rocket with B6-4 engine. Blimey! My observations about t' current igniters vs t' ones I used as kid in t' late 1970's be t' new ones are awful! they don't light as fast as t' "good ole days" and t' plastic plugs are more problematic that a simple piece o' maskin' tape. T' launch controller uses 4 AA batteries and this doesn't seem t' be enough juice t' light an igniter fast when its inserted into an engine. Blimey! Maybe its t' plastic plugs? maybe its t' igniters themselves? Im nay sure, matey, but I would opt for a lantern battery for faster ignitions. You can see t' delay in this video from t' zero count t' actual ignition. Its like this on every launch with t' current "out o' t' box" setup.
