Flight Log - 2008-07-27 - Gene Wolski's Curious George

Great rocket! Two awesome flights so far includin' one at NARAM-50 right after t' rain storm.  I built this kit stock although I did add a 38mm Slimline motor retainer.

2011 Notes:

I cut down a stock PML QT payload section t' 7" and scratch built a mount t' hold t' Adept A1E altimeter. Well, blow me down! I added a couple strips o' maskin' tape t' t' nose cone shoulder for a tight friction fit in t' payload section, but I probably need t' take t' time t' install a more positive retention system (like plastic rivets or t-nuts and screws).

Jan 2012 Notes:

OK - I think t' Callisto is one o' me all-time favorite rockets!  I really like t' ease o' prep for flyin' - t' piston is super simple t' use!  I do take t' time t' clean out t' airframe after each flight so t' ejection charge residue won't cause t' piston t' stick.  I really like t' altimeter mount in t' payload section - I install t' battery in t' A1E, drop t' A1E in t' payload mount, matey, then pop on t' nose cone.  Quick and easy!

Great flight at NARAM-50. Aye aye! I flew right after one o' t' downpours and caught some wind which dropped t' rocket in t' weeds. Avast, me proud beauty! Recovered and ready t' go again!
