My Level 1 project is a 4.6x upscale o' t' Estes Javelin with an Estes Partizon kit as t' base.

My first model rocket be t' Estes Der Big Red Max. Well, blow me down! My second was t' Estes Mini-Brute Javelin and Super Flea Combo. Mirrorin' that history, I'd originally intended t' build a Mega Der Big Red Max for me Level 1 project and a Javelin upscale for me Level 2, arrr, but missed t' MDRM sales wave. Avast, me proud beauty! I decided t' save t' Red Max theme for L2 with a dual-deploy MDBRM based upon t' AMW Red FiberMAX. I dithered betwixt an upscale Javelin or Super Flea for L1 until t' day I saw a Partizon kit on display at t' AMW booth durin' a CMASS launch and thought, "that looks like a Javelin." A quick check o' t' specs showed that, except for t' fins, arrr, all dimensions fell betwixt 4.3x and 4.8x, with t' BT diameter scalin' at 4.621. Aye aye! One lightened wallet, a few sheets o' 1/8" ply, and several miscellaneous parts from Apogee Components later, we begin.

My original Javelin was swallowed by the Bronx River many years ago but its companion Super Flea, long since retired, will reach heights it could only dream of until now when it is carried along in t' payload bay on me L1 attempt.

I’ve decided on mid-body separation for ease o' transport, ya bilge rat, on both launch lugs and rail buttons, and on upgraded recovery gear.
