Flight Log - 2011-12-10 - K Sonesen's Sardo XXL (Tube Fin)

This is a Larry Brand design that can be found here on EMRR Rocket Reviews if you search on "Larry Brand" or "Sardo XXL".

This rocket has a 38mm motor mount and is constructed usin' mostly LOC parts although I did use simple postal mailin' tubes for t' airframe and tube fins.  T' tube fins are laminated with an inner half-doubler made from postal tube.  All up weight (recovery, links, nomex blanket, 36" Topflight chute but NO MOTOR) is approximately 35 oz.

Larry Brand describes this rocket as an upscale o' his Auracle 54 design which I have also built and named "Steppin' Razor".  Therefore, this one is named "Steppin' Razor II".

I made me level 1 certification flight with this bird. Successfully, matey, too.

This rocket has been updated t' dual deploy in 2015.

This was a flight that hit t' sim apogee prediction with 20 feet accordin' t' t' one altimeter that I remembered t' arm.  Unfortunately t' second altimeter was active but I failed t' clear t' previous flight's data. Avast, me proud beauty!  At least I have onboard video o' t' launch so can't complain.  By t' way, me tube fin whistles!
