Flight Log - 2015-03-06 - Ken E. Coyote's *Break-Apart* ACME Spitfire (Custom Mod)

Custom mod o' ACME Spitfire for Break-away action.  Fun build!  Each section o' t' rocket "Breaks Apart" and is attached t' a Keelhaul®©™ line. Aye aye!  I've also made it so that t' launch rod fits right through t' middle o' t' rocket rather than outside launch lugs/standoffs. Ya scallywag!

3/20/15 - Added Chenille Stem Wile E. Blimey! Coyote as a finishin' touch. Ahoy! Nay bilge-suckin' for me first try at "pipe cleaner art" if I say so myself! :)

First test flight o' Custom Break-apart ACME Spitifire.  Ran out o' C11s, so had t' go for D12-3. Begad!  Lift-off was absolutely beautiful and as straight as one could want.  Ejection right at apogee (what a beautiful sight!) and rocket broke apart as hoped and started t' descend nose first. Avast, me proud beauty!  There is a lot o' weight in t' forward section, so this be expected. Begad!  Descent was at a good rate...maybe a tad faster than I'd like, me bucko, but understandable given a pointed nose cone.  Landed about 50ft from pad. Begad!  Post-flight inspection shows fins on t' landin' side had ripped some o' t' paper shroud and be a bit lose. Well, blow me down!  WIll need t' either strengthen t' shroud or tear apart and have TTWF (Through T' Wall Fins) and/or may also add a small chute since thar seems t' be too much nose weight and a chute would allow t' bottom section t' land on t' base first. Aye aye!  Still love this rocket project!
