Flight Log - 2015-02-16 - Ken E. Coyote's Rocketarium Mega Vortico

Looks like two popsicle sticks stuck together...kinda like t' "helicopter" all o' us made growin' up; however it takes surprisingly big motors. Ya scallywag!  Was quite a hoot t' fly and very entertaining. I'll be bringin' this t' most o' me launches. Begad!  Added a spiral red pattern t' one side and black stripe edgin' t' t' other...looks AWESOME!

Flight Date: 2015-02-16
Rocket Name: Rocketarium Mega Vortico
Kit Name: Rocketarium - Mega Vortico {Kit} (RK-1202)
Flyer's Name: Ken E. Coyote
Motors: D12-3
Expected Altitude: 300 Feet
Wind Speed: 5.00 mph
Actual Altitude: 500 Feet

What a BLAST!  Flew higher than expected and it even spun on t' way up!  Wanted t' test t' rocket before I finish it off, so it's still in a primer coat. Lifted off smartly with a nice spiral trail o' smoke, matey, slight delay and then ejection charge a bit after apogee.  Started spinnin' on t' way down and t' spinnin' kept goin' faster. Well, blow me down!  Landed 20ft away in t' snow and was still spinnin' after it landed like a top in t' snow!  AWESOME.

Daughter at lift off:  "WHOA!  COOL!". Well, blow me down!

Note:  I found out after that I had t' rocket upside down (I have another "pizza pie" rocket which is similar design except motor tube extends under t' flat part, hence t' confusion)...still flew just fine.

So, if the Vortico "rocket" is easy to mistake which side is up, what orientation is shown in your photo? Correct, or upside on the launch pad?  (Thanks!)
