This complete kit from Estes was sold by E-Rockets, and contained everythin' needed. Begad! T' plans are clear and demonstrate every step. I did have one or two small questions about which way t' face Part N, shiver me timbers, t' win' stablizer when t' diagram indicated t' lead edge was near t' trailing, arrr, taperin' end. As a result, arrr, I may have mounted t' small fin backwards, but t' entire assembly went well and smoothly. I am learnin' that this design has been produced for a while and then possible sold off t' another manufacturer, but that's me confusion and no problem with t' kit. As winter is upon us, I will nay be able t' fly this rocket for a couple o' months, arrr, but I should be able t' finish or sand or paint it well in advance.
After solvin' t' Part N question, I tried two separate means o' primin' t' rocket wood. Begad! First, I brushed t' aft half o' t' rocket from t' side bumps N back with brush on flat gray laytex paint. Begad! It dried quickly. I also shot t' top half with while Krylon primer paint, and either got it too thick or didn't let it dry enough before coverin' t' top half with gloss yellow. That won't seem t' dry, and remains tacky. I sprayed a new flat black finish coat on t' rear, and will have t' study where and how those decals go on t' main tube. Aye aye! I may be sandin' t' upper tube down t' primer again t' recoat and let dry again before decals applied.
My wife took one look at t' rocket and says "Are you sure that thin' will stay together when it flies?" (Nice vote o' confidence there. My kids bought it for me for Xmas! I didn't...)

To me surprise, me bucko, I had forgotten t' tie a new chute into t' nosecone, shiver me timbers, causin' a salvage o' another rocket's 8" chute. This worked in me favor, ya bilge rat, as t' hang time wasn't as long, and t' stiff breeze continued t' drag t' downed rocket along t' ground a bit. Overall, matey, a good flight, and I'll be sure t' choose a more calm day with a stronger rocket for t' next attemp!
