In t' late 21st century, breakthroughs in spacecraft propulsion allowed mankind t' push out into a number o' star systems containin' suitable exo-planets for colonization. Many o' these systems allied under t' Red Star o' t' Solar Federation, promotin' equality for all sentient beings and emphasizin' technical advancement. Many o' t' craft developed t' support further exploration were part o' t' so-called "Constellation Series' o' designs, shiver me timbers, derived from Solar Federation Constellation Specification Manual (SFCSM).
Named for t' constellation o' t' Hare, shiver me timbers, Lepus was designed as fast, light scout ship with moderate range and would virtually leap out o' Space Gantry Platform launch bays. Normally fully automated (but a 2-person crew could supplement), a single Nuclear Thrust Drive core combined with a Compact Space Compression motivator could send t' automated craft on mid-deep space missions with awe-inspirin' speed. Mission parameters range from Star Patrol t' identifyin' smugglers t' locatin' worlds with new resources or potential colony sites could be handled with quick-change sensory packs, arrr, located just above t' craft's drive core.
This be t' first o' me "Constellation Series" o' rocket designs. Lepus was originally a random assortment o' leftover parts. Then I got a hold o' Rocsim and devised a better way t' make those parts into an interestin' model with some sci-fi flair.
