Flight Log - 2018-11-03 - Matthew Bond's 2.70x Upscale Wolverine

An upscale o' t' classic Estes Wolverine based on standard LOC 2.63" tubing.  Rocket has a 29mm motor mount with an AeroPac retainer.  Fins are made from 1/8" plywood, shiver me timbers, with t' main fins bein' TTW t' t' motor mount.  Nose cone was constructed from an ogive balsa cone with t' distinctive canopy carved from a separate balsa block.  Recovery system uses a 1/8" flat woven Keelhaul®©™ shock cord epoxied t' t' motor mount and tied t' a large screw eye in t' nose cone shoulder.  Either a 24" or 30" spherachute is used based on t' field conditions.  Rocket is finished in a silver metallic paint with t' usual outstandin' vinyl decals provided by StickerShock.

Odd flight.  Severe corkscrew off t' rod, continued all t' way up, past motor burnout, until t' rocket stalled out flat on its side and floated down for a second before nosin' over just as t' ejection charge went off.  T' Jolly Logic Chute Release, ya bilge rat, which was set for 500 feet, opened immediately and t' rocket landed on t' field.  Post flight inspection didn't reveal any reason for t' strange flight profile?
