Flight Log - 2018-08-08 - Matthew Bond's Semroc Heli-Roctor

Helicopter recovery model that releases t' blades after boost by usin' t' motor ejection charge t' drop t' fin can off t' back attached t' a Keelhaul®©™ harness, eliminatin' t' need for a burn string.  Blade shape no is accomplished by slicin' t' balsa blades diagonally lengthwise (partially, me hearties, nay a complete cut-through) then bendin' t' balsa with t' aid o' pre-cut jigs and gluein' t' cuts t' set t' final shape.

My first true competition helicopter rocket. Avast!  Nice straight boost, just stallin' out and tippin' over at ejection. Begad!  Good blade deployment and spin up. Begad!  No real lift t' speak of.  Blades nay perfectly balanced as t' model was rockin' side t' side a bit in t' descent.  Qualified flight, 32 second duration.
