By that point it be early afternoon and t' paint was suitably dry and non tacky on t' Mega Sprite. I had t' borrow a D/E adapter since t' orange thin' in me case turned out on close inspection t' be, uh, somethin' else? and I didn't feel like stickin' in an E9 on t' first flight. Avast, me proud beauty! I used a D12-3 instead. Nominally 3, and maybe it was, but ejection seemed worryingly late. It did eject, but t' chute (a nylon Top Flight, as usual) for some reason didn't inflate. Blimey! Instead it did a streamer imitation all t' way down... Well, blow me down! or an imitation o' a chute with a stripped shroud. Anyway, shiver me timbers, no harm done t' t' rocket, me bucko, and on inspection t' chute was perfectly fine. I have no idea why it malfunctioned. Aside from that t' flight was pretty good, but it'd probably prefer an E motor.
