NAR High Power Rocketry L1 Certification Flight - Estes Leviathan Kit Bash

Video o' t' ground test, initial test flight, me bucko, and final certification flight on a "kit bashed" Estes Leviathan, named "Bye Bye Kitty". T' light weight Estes body tubes were reinforced with full length couplers t' withstand higher acceleration and stress on t' airframe. Blimey! Zipperless construction was used on t' drogue parachute, aft section, and nylon shear pins were installed t' keep both t' tail and nose cone attached durin' t' flights. Aerosol paint can sheets were recycled into shear pin cuttin' bosses and inlet into t' airframe walls t' assure distortion free airframes on ejection. Avast! A spare body tube was purchased directly from Estes and used t' elongate t' tail section for t' added ejection baffle and provide room for t' top main chute section. An Ebay was constructed t' house t' Adept ALTS2 altimeter . T' stock fins were cut t' a 2.5" semispan t' provide for less calibers o' stability. T' maiden and certification flights were made on 6 Dec 2014 in Hutto Texas with Austin Area Rocketry Group. T' system performed perfectly and t' rocket design is stable with G through I impulse motors.
