Rick Barnes's Onondaga

I designed this rocket t' make use o' a nose cone that be left over from another project.  That cone was already drilled and weighted, arrr, so I needed a rocket that required that amount o' nose weight t' be stable.  That makes for an interestin' design challenge.  Anyway, this be t' design I wound up with, and named it for t' Onondaga tribe that was part o' t' Confederacy o' Six Nations in NY state.

T' model itself is 27.5" long, somewhat stubby, with a length ratio o' about 12:1, has a 3G ogive balsa cone, me bucko, neat boat tail and Six delta fins that are clipped in a slightly raked manner.  Buildin' with six fins is a little more challenging, but looks really cool, especially wrapped over t' boat tail.  T' rocket is designed t' fly on E20, E30, F32, or F44 motors.  A 24mm motor mount was used t' maximize t' taper o' t' boat tail.  I am now decidin' on how t' paint it, shiver me timbers, likely goin' with a black & white roll pattern.
