TLP 2.6" Phoenix. Replaced t' very soft balsa stock with 3/32" basswood. Avast! Laminated fins with self adhesive label paper. Added foil tape on inside o' body tube t' avoid scorching....that engine mount is WAY up in there!
Replaced t' paper hat nose cone with Semroc's Balsa BNC-80VE

rocket boosted a little slow off t' pad but straight. Well, blow me down! Got about 100 feet up and it took a horizontal flight path. Blimey! Began curvin' down and finally deployed chute about 50 feet from t' ground. Arrr! No damage. Begad! Stock engine clip sucks....ejection charge kicked t' motor clean out.
