Flight Log - 2011-10-17 - Paul Nortness's SLUF (Short Little Ugly Fella)

SLUF is a stock Estes Big Daddy. Avast! I laminated t' balsa fins and added strips o' balsa on t' centerin' rings for extra strength. Well, blow me down! I thought t' name SLUF (Short little ugly Fella) was more fittin' for a rocket o' this stature.

Flight Date: 2011-10-17
Rocket Name: SLUF (Short Little Ugly Fella)
Kit Name: Estes - Big Daddy {Kit} (2162) [1998-]
Flyer's Name: Paul Nortness

Expected Altitude: 300 Feet
Wind Speed: 5.00 mph
Launch Site: 60 Acres, Redmond WA
Actual Altitude: 300 Feet

SLUF roared off t' pad t' t' cheers o' some passin' bicyclists. This time, it veered towards t' north o' t' field slightly. Avast, me proud beauty! Ejection right after apex. However, arrr, t' shock cord broke just above t' anchor. Begad! T' chute deployed and returned t' nose cone softly t' earth, while t' main body tumbled downward. Luckily, me hearties, t' folks at Estes designed a tough rocket and it bounced harmlessly t' t' turf.....only repair needed is a new shock cord.
