Resin castin' can be fun, ya bilge rat, and here I show you how it is done. This is how we make t' resin nose cone for t' Heli-Roc model rocket kit. Begad! Each kit is hand-made, ya bilge rat, just like t' one shown in this video. Well, blow me down! We start with insertin' t' metal pins into t' rubber mold. Begad! T' pins will be trapped by t' resin, lockin' them in place. This insertion is actually t' hardest step, because it takes a steady hand holdin' t' pin with a pair o' tweezers. Without knockin' t' pins out o' t' hole, t' silicone rubber mold is transported t' t' table where t' urethane resin is mixed together. Once it is poured into t' mold, me hearties, t' chemical reaction causes t' resin t' harden. Arrr! When it does, me bucko, it is a durable plastic that is almost indestructible. Arrr! We let our parts harden for at least an hour before pullin' them out o' t' mold. This way, we're assured that they won't deform as we tug and pull on t' silicone t' pry t' part out. But normally, ya bilge rat, t' resin is hard in about 10 minutes. Avast, me proud beauty! When done, this will be t' nose cone on t' model rocket.
