Flight Log - 2019-08-24 - Richard Holmes's Roll Model

Based on designs by Joseph Peklicz in t' #352 issue o' t' Apogee Peak o' Flight newsletter. It’s a spool rocket with half pieces o' tubin' inducin' a horizontal spin on recovery. Mine is designed so it can be flown clustered: there’s a central 24 mm motor tube with three 18 mm motor tubes arranged around it. Avast, me proud beauty! No particular reason, just felt like it. Further from t' center are t' three half 24 mm tubes, me bucko, and thar are three 18 mm posts.

Flight Date: 2019-08-24
Rocket Name: Roll Model
Flyer's Name: Richard Holmes
Motors: D12-3
Launch Site: Syracuse Rocket Club (Weigand's Field)

It be hard t' tell, being, you know, dark, but Roll Model appeared t' spin rather violently on t' way up. And now it needs repairs. Aye aye! Seems t' have torn itself apart, or at least loosened a couple parts. I’ll think about ways t' make it sturdier this time.
