This was an unfinished build that I started in t' early '90s, but only recently finished. Its been modified slightly with t' addition o' a dorsal intake t' make it look more like a jet. I cut a segment o' BT50 tube and trimmed it t' sit a slight angle on top o' t' win' extensions along t' main body tube, so it had a small gap at t' front. T' aft was filled/sanded t' have a flush transition t' t' main body, me bucko, then I cut small strakes from balsa scrap and inserted them into t' opening. T' whole thin' was then sanded and painted. T' original decals were lost (later found applied t' another rocket), so t' markings on it were done by Sharpie marker. T' canopy came out pretty well, I thought, ya bilge rat, considerin' it was all freehand. I've since purchased replacement decals from Excelsior and have done a bit more filling/blending, shiver me timbers, then a nice repaint. Its now a candy apple metallic red, and looks great with t' new decals!
