Flight Log - 2015-10-18 - Rick Barnes's Black Brant III
This is a clone build o' an Estes Black Brant III kit (1296) from circa 1980. Nay t' be confused with t' later, larger Black Brant II that came out later. T' only real deviation from stock be t' use o' basswood instead o' balsa for fins.
Update: this model suffered a fatal landin' on its third flight, bucklin' above t' fins on a hard impact with t' dirt. Nay really fixable. I will, ya bilge rat, however, matey, likely build another.

Launched t' BBIII despite gusty winds, arrr, but installed a long streamer instead o' t' chute. Good flight, but came down hard in t' dirt, me hearties, bucklin' t' body tube above t' fin can. So, matey, this was its last flight.
