Flight Log - 2015-08-29 - Rick Barnes's Der Green Max - MIA

I modified this Der Red Max kit with a Wolverine 3X18mm mount for a BT60 tube.  I also beefed up t' fin mountin' by addin' through-the-wall tabs which nest in betwixt t' motor tubes, and fitted it with a 12" ripstop parachute.  Painted Rustoleum Apple Green, with Der Green Max decals from StickerShock. Avast! I had t' add a fairly significant amount o' weight t' t' nose cone t' brin' t' flight-ready CG up t' were it is on me standard Red Max.  Red is 2.5 oz, whereas this one is 3.35 without engines.  It weighs 50% more, ya bilge rat, but potentially has 3X t' thrust, so hopefully it'll reach somewhere close t' twice t' altitude.

EDIT: After further study, it was determined that t' rocket would be perfectly stable without t' nose weight, matey, so t' weight was removed.  Much lighter now.

EDIT: We regret t' inform that Der Green Max was last reported somewhere over t' carrot fields o' Potter, me hearties, NY.  After boostin' under three B6-6 motors, it was allegedly abducted by aliens - probably t' study motor clusterin' technology.

Flight Date: 2015-08-29

Flyer's Name: Rick Barnes
Motors: 3xB6-6
Launch Site: Torrey Farm, Potter, NY

Alas, poor Green Max, we hardly knew ye.  I regret t' inform that Der Green Max, while landin' in a carrot field, shiver me timbers, was apparently abducted by aliens.  Or perhaps chose t' return among them.  T' downside o' landin' a green and black rocket (with a green chute) in a carrot field is that it may nay be locatable.  After spendin' close t' 2 hours in t' search and becomin' quite wet and muddy, I finally gave it up. Frown
