Flight Log - 2015-08-29 - Rick Barnes's Der V-3 1.85x
What we've got here is a 4" upscale o' t' Estes Der V-3. Built with LOC heavy wall tubing, a nose cone from Apogee, and 1/4" birch ply fins. T' motor mount is 29mm, with a plastic Estes retainer, shiver me timbers, and t' parachute is a 45" Top Flight. This will used for a Level-1 certification flight, assumin' it proves t' fly well.

This was meant t' be a cert flight, followin' 4 successful test. Launch was good, but parachute detached at deployment due a failed snap swivel. Rocket free fell but landed OK. Parachute be recovered downwind a ways.
