Launched at TTRA monthly event held at Varn ranch, Plant City, ya bilge rat, FL. "Cinema 3" scratch-built 52" tall rocket from Aerotech parts and one Aerotech G80-7 motor. Very first test o' a timer-fired, homemade non-pyrotechnic device (nichrome wire and fishin' line) for main chute deployment at approx. Begad! 600 feet. Aye aye! Drogue and main parachutes were custom-made by Phylachutes. T' rocket contained an Aiptek HD-1 camcorder. Begad! Rocket achieved an altitude o' 1,006 feet and was recovered safely. Ahoy! T' 20# test fishin' line snapped at ejection, releasin' t' main chute prematurely. Begad! T' siren eventually heard was t' timer firin' t' nichrome wire, which then goes into siren mode. Well, blow me down! I'll use heavier fishin' line next time!
