Flight Log - 2014-08-16 - Rodney Earp's Semroc Orbital Transport

T' instructions are very well done for this rocket. Well, blow me down! Lots o' pictures and easy t' understand step by step. This is a level 2 rocket and very easy t' put together but t' win' angles are very important t' t' flight and close intention should be made when gluin' t' wings t' t' fuselage, me bucko, these are just like t' fins but bigger. T' kit goes together fast and can be framed up in 3 or 4 hours easy. T' finishin' is goin' t' interestin' and I’m thinkin' o' usin' Aerogloss dope t' seal everythin' thin' before painting. I think t' dope will be lighter than Sealer and better for all t' balsa wood. Paint is one color "White" that makes thin' simple and with the decals that are Waterslide, ya bilge rat, adds alot o' detail t' this kit. I like t' change colors and things on rockets t' make them me own, ya bilge rat, but t' do so with this one would be just wrong, it can't get any beter. William is buildin' and flyin' this for his Nartrek Gemini Level and was very excited t' build this, I hope we’ll fly it in 2 weeks at ROCC.

Well this project got set aside for a while once framed up, ya bilge rat, Just other things goin' on. Avast, me proud beauty! Finishin' this was a challenge on t' main because o' t' tight places t' sand and seal. Begad! If doin' again, I might seal everythin' before takin' it out o' t' sheets. Put about 4 coats o' sealer on them sandin' betwixt coats, this way t' ends be t' only thin' t' seal and could be done easy after glued together. Begad!

After t' last flight and loosin' t' glider, shiver me timbers, I had t' cut another one from scratch since Semroc is no longer. Begad!  Comin' along nicely needs paint

Flew well again, t' new transport glider flew great and level for about 300' then hit a tree limb at t' edge o' a deep group o' trees and fell 50' t' t' ground, almost lost it agian. Ya scallywag! puttin' ina little less elevon in one side and hope t' get it t' circle next time.
