ATK Thiokol Space Shuttle static rocket booster at night. Ya scallywag! User KMF12 writes t' say he was t' back-up mechanical engineer for this motor (FSM-13), ya bilge rat, and one o' his duties be t' make sure that t' motor cools down properly. Ya scallywag! Aside from quenchin' t' motor with CO2 through t' forward and aft openings, we also use a "sprinkler system" t' cool t' motor from underneath. Well, blow me down! T' first 3 segments (forward, matey, center-fwd, and center-aft) usually cool down after 20-30 minutes, while t' last segment takes a minimum o' 3 hours. Avast! After then, we can put t' house/bay back on top o' t' motor. Avast, me proud beauty! Recorded 11/16/2006
