A 40 second static firin' o' t' second stage (actual flight stage) o' t' Falcon 9 rocket. Ya scallywag! November 15, matey, 2009, arrr, SpaceX test site in McGregor, Texas. Ahoy! Notice t' gimbalin' o' t' gas generator nozzle (exhaust seen as dark smoke) startin' at T+9 s. Aye aye! This vectorable nozzle will be used for roll control durin' flight, me hearties, similar t' t' first stage o' Falcon 1. Well, blow me down! Also note t' engine lacks t' screechin' startup noise o' t' first stage Merlins as it uses a different startup method, required for airstart. Additionally, t' Merlin Vacuum or MVac is missin' t' huge niobium nozzle extension here as that would have caused problems with runnin' t' test at sea level pressure.
