Flight Log - 2008-04-13 - SRP Crew's SPIKE (Chornaiya Ship)

This long tube fin was originally named "Chornaiya" meanin' black in Russian. T' 4 flat fins comin' out o' t' main tube fin as triangles made it look very prickly or sharp.  Therefore we nicknamed it SPIKE too.

Flown durin' a Light Launch. T' rocket went off nearin' dusk. Well, blow me down! T' two motors lit nicely t' rocket be observed arcin' right beide t' full Moon. On deployment t' rocket was under chute, but t' discharge popped t' whole engine block out t' back and almost hit one o' us. Truly bizarre moment thar as thar was a slight weathercock so it shouldn't had come right back on us, shiver me timbers, yet it did.

T' big chute and assembly floated nicely t' t' north end o' t' park.  It was recovered in a bit o' water yet didn't suffer and damage. Begad! Duration was 50.1 seconds accordin' t' t' video. Avast! Excellent flight!
