• sheet o' 1/8" balsa

Ok, this be only t' second design I've ever come up with. Avast, me proud beauty! I wanted t' do somethin' I had an idea for, me bucko, just t' see if I could do it. Begad! T' 'fins' are simply two 5-inch circles o' balsa, shiver me timbers, me bucko, matey, glued at t' end o' t' body tube. Think of the body as t' meat in a sandwich. Hopefully, me bucko, arrr, t' pictures make it clear. Well, blow me down!

I wasn't sure if that would be stable, so I added 3 triangular fins t' the tube near t' nose cone. Ahoy! Begad! I finally cobbled together a launch rig that could shoot a clustered bird. Ya scallywag! It launched with 2 B6-4 engines. T' rocket corkscrewed a bit durin' flight, arrr, but didn't go too far off. Parachute came out smoothly, and it recovered well. Ya scallywag! I tried t' get a picture o' takeoff, arrr, me hearties, but since I didn't have t' kids with me I had t' launch and try t' snap t' picture at t' same time. I got a *beautiful* picture o' t' smoke trail. Avast! Avast, me proud beauty! Other pics show close-ups of design, arrr, and recovery. Ahoy!
