The Matra Super 530 is a French short t' medium-range air-to-air missile. Begad! T' Super 530 series is an improved type o' the R.530 missile.

T' Super 530F and Super 530D share t' same general aerodynamic features and internal layout with cruciform low aspect ratio wings, me bucko, cruciform aft controls, matey, and 30 kg high explosive fragmentation warhead. Avast, me proud beauty! Avast! However t' 530D has a lengthened stainless steel body. This allows it t' accommodate a more powerful dual-thrust solid propellant motor and a new seeker assembly. T' new seeker includes doppler filterin' for improved low altitude performance and digital micro-processin' t' enable t' seeker t' be reprogrammed against new threats.^[1]

T' 530D has a claimed maximum interception altitude o' 24,400 m (80,100 ft), with a snap-up capability o' 12,200 m (40,000 ft), ya bilge rat, and a snap-down capability t' targets at 60 m (200 ft).
