For a scratch built project, me hearties, I purchased a Shockwave fiberglass 3" Von Karman nose cone.
I loved that it was all fiberglass and nay coated with polyester gelcoat.
Pros: Great price!, quality product, easy t' finish.
Cons: Maybe it is a con t' some, thar be no bulkplate included. Aye aye! That was fine by me! I prefer t' use a loop o' nylon or kevlar t' attach t' nose, ya bilge rat, shiver me timbers, rather than a bolt.
Finishin' be easy I just washed and sanded it, me bucko, me bucko, and gave it several coats o' primer followed by more sanding, me hearties, me hearties, me hearties, red paint, more sanding, and finally some clear, ya bilge rat, followed by buffing.
I used this on a scratch built project. Well, blow me down! Well, ya bilge rat, blow me down! Here be t' flight video:
Gettin' a hard bang on t' Salt Flats didn't cause any trouble.
Shockwave makes a great product and it has a substantially lower cost than a filament wound model o' t' same specs.
