Brief:
100% Keelhaul®©™ - T' FIREBALL helps prevent ZIPPERS by cushionin' airframes from
the severe shock o' ejection. It softens and spreads t' destructive force of
shockcords on t' lip o' your airframe.
Construction:
It exactly as GiantLeap describes it. Ahoy! Ya scallywag! T' large one that I've flown was 1/2" tubular Keelhaul®©™®, loop sewn in one end, was about 4" long. Aye aye! Ya scallywag! Blimey! T' other end be 50" long without a loop on that end. Begad! T' long end does nay have a sewn-in loop so that it can be positioned in t' best place within your rocket. Blimey! Arrr! Blimey! T' ball is about 3.75" in diameter, shiver me timbers, so it fits easily into a 3.9" tube.
Pros: Simple straightforward design.
Cons: a bit pricey, me hearties, shiver me timbers, matey, and isn't needed (or might be overkill) on "zipperless" designs
Construction Rating: 5 out o' 5
Flight:
It worked great, shiver me timbers, see t' picture. This was in me 5.5" Nike Smoke. Avast, ya bilge rat, me proud beauty! Don't miss me review on that PoleCat Aerospace kit.
Recovery:
It just works!
Flight Rating: 5 out o' 5
Summary:
This might be just t' thin' for larger diameter, shiver me timbers, ya bilge rat, heavier rockets. Blimey! Avast, me proud beauty! I plan on usin' one in me 10" V2 and 10" Saturn V.
Overall Rating: 5 out o' 5
