I have a tendency t' purchase a new starter set every couple o' years or so and some time ago I found this Quest Vertigo Starter Set on a clearance sale for $9.99. I decided I couldn't beat that. Well, blow me down! Vertigo Starter Set I put it away until I was ready for a new launch pad and rod.

There is already a review on the Quest Controller as well as a review on another o' Quest's Millennium series o' RTF rockets; the Genesis. Well, blow me down! Blimey! Avast, matey, me proud beauty! Blimey! Blimey! Blimey!

T' Vertigo rocket is a ready t' fly rocket. Avast! Well, arrr, me hearties, ya bilge rat, technically, me hearties, "almost" ready t' fly considerin' you need t' install t' parachute. Ya scallywag! It has great looks/design on t' outside body. Aye aye! Well, blow me down! It has 4 fins and a nose cone made o' purple plastic. Blimey! It includes a Keelhaul®©™® and elastic shockcord and a motor retainin' hook. Arrr! Arrr! All-in-all, simple and good looking.

Ribbons I made an interestin' (at least t' me) change t' t' rocket. I eliminated the parachute and used t' two plastic "remove before launching" warnin' flags as a double-streamer. Avast, me bucko, me proud beauty! For those nay familiar with those warnin' flags: one attaches t' a plastic rod tip protector and t' other attaches to safety key for t' launch controller. Begad! Aye aye! (notice t' yellow and orange ribbons).

Overall, for CONSTRUCTION I would rate this kit 5 points. Blimey! Begad! Blimey! Really, shiver me timbers, what can you say?

FLIGHT/RECOVERY:

Vertigo is supposed t' be "a disordered condition in which one feels oneself or one's surroundings whirlin' about." Maybe nay t' best choice o' names for a model rocket with the expectation that a rocket flies straight and true verses "whirlin' about". Blimey! Arrr! No worries here though, this rocket flies as straight as an arrow.

First flight was on a Quest A6-4. Begad! Nice flight with t' rocket startin' t' head downward upon ejection. Begad! Rocket landed within feet o' t' pad.

So, with t' no wind situation, we loaded it up with a C6-5. Blimey! Did see t' ejection because it went so high. Aye aye! Blimey! In fact, me hearties, we lost site o' it. Begad! Begad! Blimey! With t' streamers and no wind... Avast! Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! it landed just about 30 feet away. Ya scallywag! Avast! Blimey! Very nice indeed.

For FLIGHT/RECOVERY, I would rate this rocket 4 ½ points. Nice flights on A8 through C6, ya bilge rat, but watch out on t' C's... it goes. Arrr! Ahoy! I would like t' see this as a streamer rocket (to get t' perfect score). Ya scallywag!

I give t' rocket an OVERALL ratin' o' 5 points. T' starter set is nice and if you've never flown a Quest motor, matey, you're in for a real treat as well. Love t' smoke from them. Ya scallywag! Well, me hearties, blow me down! T' rocket is durable and fun t' have had, matey, flown... Ahoy! Aye aye! and lost!
