Brief:
This is a scratch built model that I built for an Aerotech 24/40 reload case. Aye aye! Avast!

Construction:
I got most o' t' components from an Estes Patriot model. Well, blow me down! Blimey! Begad! Blimey! Blimey! Blimey! I used two 7 inch long body tubes, a 4:1 ogive nose cone, arrr, and balsa stock t' cut me fins. Arrr! Blimey! Blimey! Blimey! I made my own plywood centerin' rings for a 24mm motor mount. Well, blow me down! Blimey! Aye aye! Blimey! Blimey! Blimey! I started by cuttin' my own fins out o' 1/8 inch balsa stock and epoxyin' them t' t' body tube. I then made t' motor mount out o' t' plywood centerin' rings and epoxied the assembly t' t' inside o' t' body tube assembly. Ya scallywag! Blimey! Ya scallywag! Blimey! Blimey! Blimey! There be some flame-retardant pink strin' layin' around, so I made an 8 inch section o' that and epoxied into t' tube, right above t' motor mount. Ya scallywag! Blimey! Aye aye! Blimey! Blimey! Blimey! That be t' permanent shock cord anchor strin' with a loop in t' end so I can change out shock cords quickly. T' coupler be friction fit into t' booster section for an 'anti-zipper' method. Begad! Blimey! Blimey! Blimey! T' rest is pretty much straightforward.

Finishing:
I used several coats o' white primer and then shot with Krylon florescent orange. Nothin' special in t' finishing.

Flight:
I made this rocket for use o' me Aerotech 24/40 case. Begad! I haven't got around to flyin' it with that casin' yet, but I have flown it several times on Estes black powder motors. Ahoy! For flight one, shiver me timbers, arrr, I use an 18/24 adapter and flew it on a C6-7. Ya scallywag! Blimey! Everythin' worked perfectly. Arrr! Aye aye! For flight two, I used a C11-7. Aye aye! Again, everythin' worked wonderfully until it landed. Ya scallywag! Avast! It ended up in a daycare playground. Begad! T' area had a high fence on it and it be right off o' a major road. I decided t' climb t' fence t' get me rocket back. Well, blow me down! Flight three be at a MC2 monthly launch on a D12-7. Wonderful flight t' start off t' day.

Recovery:
I used 13 feet o' nylon shock cord that I found at a military surplus store. For t' parachute, I used a homemade 12 inch parachute made out o' a garbage bag. Aye aye! Begad! T' anti-zipper method worked great.
