My rocket was inspired by an Estes Sliver. Begad! I planned t' upscale it usin' a 3" mailin' tube for t' body. Ya scallywag! Blimey! 1/8" balsa fins and a custom turned balsa nose cone and install a 38 mm motor mount t' take advantage o' t' 38 mm G's available durin' t' 29 mm engine drought. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! T' fins will be overlayed with 3/4 oz fiberglass and epoxy resin.
T' paint was designed t' make t' rocket highly visible durin' flight and recovery.
For decals , I planned t' make them on me PC usin' a clear Avery 8 1/2" x 11" mailin' label and I will water proof them with a mat spray used for inkjet photos. Ahoy! Blimey! Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! I have done this before and it worked really well. Begad! Blimey! Well, blow me down! Blimey! Unfortunately, ya bilge rat, me printer had t' go in for repairs and t' decals weren't ready at flight time.
To ensure a stable flight, arrr, I made slight increase in fin area and added 3" t' t' body length which will help with t' static margin due t' t' weight o' t' 38 mm motor mount and a 38 mm motor. Avast, me proud beauty! (safety first). Aye aye! Begad! I estimate an altitude o' 1800' on a CTI G60.
This rocket can't be simmed by RocSim so I was forced t' do it t' old fashioned way, shiver me timbers, long hand calculations and a swin' test. T' rocket passed t' swin' test with flyin' colors and so I be set t' launch.
T' first flight be powered with an Aerotech F40 usin' a 6 second delay. Avast! Well, blow me down! Blimey! I estimated t' altitude at about 1800'. Well, blow me down! Blimey! T' chute opened on schedule, ya bilge rat, slightly after apogee, unfortunately it landed on a rock and a fin be in need o' some glue.
