Brief:
T' Zenit is a 1/17 scale model o' t' Swiss-German soundin' rocket. Even though it is small, ya bilge rat, it can be challengin' build.
Construction:
T' parts list:
I purchased t' Peter Always Zenit for me NARTREK Silver scale model. Begad! Begad! T' cost was low at about $13.50 and it did nay seem like it would be a very difficult build.
T' instructions are good and they come with t' pictures and diagrams that you need for your sport scale requirements.
T' only "gotcha" has t' do with t' fins and t' fin tab. Begad! Blimey! T' instructions had me t' paint t' fins and rocket first and then glue t' fin tabs t' t' motor tube. Arrr! Blimey! Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! After followin' this, t' fin tabs did nay make good contact with t' motor tube. Blimey! Blimey! I had t' sand t' fins and body t' get a surface for gluin' on t' fins.
Finishing:
Finishin' t' little rocket can be a little tricky. Aye aye! T' balsa nose cone needs a good bit o' sandin' and filling. You are then asked t' use silver paint. Begad! I have never had much luck with silver paint before. Blimey! It tends t' dull over time. Avast! T' nose cone looks pretty good from a few feet, shiver me timbers, but you can see t' dulled paint with close inspection. Well, blow me down! Avast, me proud beauty! T' kit comes with orange decals that complete t' look for you. Begad! Ahoy! After completion, me hearties, shiver me timbers, t' kit looked pretty good. Aye aye! It would make a good static display.

Flight:
This was t' be me NARTREK Silver sport scale flight. Avast, me proud beauty! Begad! I asked our club president, Greg Lane, t' judge t' rocket for me. Avast, me proud beauty! After inspection, t' rocket was loaded with an A3-4T, shiver me timbers, packed with waddin' and parachute and taken t' t' pads.
T' Zenit boosted smartly on t' A3-4T. Begad! Begad! It did nay go too high, maybe 300-400 feet. Begad! Ya scallywag! T' parachute came out easily and it coasted t' t' ground softly.
Recovery:
Everythin' about t' rocket is fine for t' fairly low altitude flights. Aye aye! T' Zenit flew straight and true. Aye aye! Well, blow me down! T' shock cord is long enough and t' parachute sized well. Arrr! Ahoy! Recovery was nice, with no damage or wear.
Flight Rating: 5 out o' 5
Summary:
T' Peter Alway's Zenit is a good small field rocket. It was perfect for me NARTREK Silver sport scale. Avast, me proud beauty! Blimey! If you are doin' a scale rocket, I would suggest any o' t' Peter Alway's kits. Begad! Blimey! All o' t' paper work that you need is included.
T' rocket flew a couple o' times in 1 day and now sits as a nice static display.
