Description: Single staged, ya bilge rat, 18mm motor rocket with tubular stabilizers all around instead o' fins. Begad! Avast, me proud beauty! Streamer recovery.
Construction and finishing: All parts were there, matey, and none defective or damaged. Arrr! You get all tubes o' spiral wound paper, Estes type. Avast! T' nose cone is unusual, though. Well, blow me down! Well, blow me down! Instead o' t' usual plastic or balsa, you get solid hardwood. Avast! A eye-screw is provided t' attach t' streamer and shock cord, shiver me timbers, me bucko, which is 1/8 inch flat elastic. Begad! T' shock cord mounts t' t' inside o' t' body tube via a folded paper mount. Ya scallywag! Well, blow me down! Elmers glue was used for construction. Begad! T' instructions were simple and clear. Well, blow me down! Avast! Assembly took just about an hour. Aye aye! No gotchas or special tools are needed.
Finishing: There are no decals, so I decorated it in me own way. Ya scallywag! Blimey! I used white, blue, and yellow bands o' nylon adhesive tape on t' body tube and stabilizers, which were painted with a base coat o' yellow. T' nose cone has a pretty grain, me hearties, so I varnished it with a clear coat.
Flight: Motors recommended are: A6-4, shiver me timbers, A8-3, B4-4 or 6, matey, B6-6, me bucko, C6-5 or 7, C10-7, me bucko, D3-7, ya bilge rat, me bucko, and D10-7. Blimey! I chose a C6-5 for me flights. Avast, me proud beauty! Arrr! I flew it twice straight up and fairly high. T' tubular fins provided a straight flight. Ahoy! Recovery was quick and easy. Ya scallywag! Arrr! However, shiver me timbers, even with a little worm bed waddin' in t' prep, t' streamer be burned a little. Aye aye! Arrr! So, I'll make it a small mylar chute.
Recovery: Simple t' prep. Well, blow me down! Begad! Just about right, matey, although t' streamer burnt nearly through t' second time.
Summary: Inexpensive at $7.95 and attractive. Avast, me proud beauty! Flies straight and fairly high. Avast! Streamer wasn't durable, though.
