Brief:
Single Stage, streamer recovery.

Construction:

  • Body Tube: One Estes BT-5 4.5 inches long. Begad!
  • NoseCone: PNC-5. Aye aye! Well, blow me down!
  • Fins: 3, matey, 1/16 Basswood. Avast, me proud beauty!
  • One Motor Block: Cardboard. Begad!
  • Shock Cord: 10 inch o' 70lb. Keelhaul®©™®
  • Steamer: Red Mylar 1.5 X 15 inch.

This took about an hour t' build. T' paintin' took a little longer, 2 colors bright yellow over white. All supplies were purchased from local hobby store, shiver me timbers, Hobbytown USA. Ahoy! Avast! Redmond, me hearties, WA.

Flight:
Recommended motor: A3-4T. Ya scallywag! Blimey! That be t' motor I used. Ya scallywag! Well, ya bilge rat, blow me down! Blimey! Preparation: Estes wadding paper, t' rocket is small, if you have big hands you might need a buddy to hold t' rocket for you. Blimey! Blimey! Flight: T' Mini Aimers flew straight, me hearties, fast and into the overcast o' t' mid-afternoon. Ahoy! Blimey! Shock cord technique: Quest style, tied off at t' motor mount. Begad! Recovery: Delay is a little too fast, matey, shiver me timbers, T' only reason I say that is I be missin' about 3 inches o' steamer.

Summary:
PROs: It is easy t' build, inexpensive t' fly, me bucko, arrr, and it goes really high. Well, blow me down! Ahoy! CONs: None.
